Frosty and Friends

This was my outfit tonight for the Girls' Holiday Dinner. Usually I pick totally crazy outtfits with super mini skirts but tonight I wanted to go more classic and conservative.

The inspiration came from the Westfield Style Magazine back in September 2011:

I tried bunch of different necklaces and they were either too flashy or too prim and proper. I wanted a simple tie and if you remember my thanksgiving outfit I actually own a black bow pin. But since this blouse does not button all the way up I couldn't use that. So realized I could wear this pearly bib necklace with the opposite side front and voila! I have a simple bow.
Added the new black rhinestone hoop earrings from F21....
The knuckle clutch worked prefect and got a lot of comments from my friends.
Mom's vintage lace blouse was perfect. I folded the jacket's sleeve back a bit so the ruffle sleeves could show.

Finally using the black polka dot sheer tights I got from Forever 21. They are so adorable.

How do you like the faux leather midi skirt from Thread Show!?

Blazer & Lace Blouse - Thrifted Vintage
Faux Leather skirt - Mustard Seed from Raven Boutique (Thread Show)
Belt, tights, earrings - Forever 21
Platforms - Newport News
Clutch - TJ Maxx
Necklace - Charlotte Russe

TODAY:
Had a great night with my girlfriends. Every birthday and Christmas instead of getting each other big gifts we all go out to dinner together. It is a nice excuse to get together and treat ourselves. Of course these are my girls and for both the happy hour bar and the restaurant they had gotten coupons at 20% less so the cost was a lot less that it would have been. We started with a round of coctails in one place then moved to the main restaurant and started with a bottle of bubbly to toast the new year followed by red wine followed by Grappa.
The desserts were delicious.

My best friend who just returned from her trip to NYC came back with an amazing hair cut!
I just love her cut. She looked amazing.

And here is the group:

EARLIER TODAY:
I met one of my friends and we  did legoland with the kids in the morning.
It was freezing cold.
I wore:

We finally were prepared so the kids could the snow there at Legoland:

We also spent some time in the imagination center where they get to build their own lego cars and race them!
