Gingerbread House

Wearing the thrifted skirt my mom bought for me for the first time.

Got the inspiration from this 'Ann Taylor' ad in a magazine:

I wish I looked as thin as the model in the photo! :(
I loved the idea of pairing the floppy hat and a belted tight top! Very 70s vibe!. What sucks is I took off the hat inside the house then in a rush of leaving I forgot it at home! Such a bummer!

The skirt is all crochet with its own lining! What a great thrift find (by Mom)!

I did this funky mani last night. Brown and neon pink!
My 4 year old Juicy boots.

TODAY:
It was a fun day at preschool today. We got to decorate the gingerbread houses. I sat with my daughter first then my son. My daugher was totally fine with my suggestions but my son he is a person now and has his own ideas which is something I love about him. I love how confident he is about what he wants and how he is rarely influenced by others. As promised he got to eat part of his house after 'quiet time'.
I did a big costco shopping late afternoon. Ah, I always think it will be a breeze and grocery shopping with two kids never is. You want to smile and appreciate the fun they are having but when they are spinning the cart and jamming it at full speed to a rack full of wine bottles it is hard to see the humor sometimes. And then not being able to find that one item on your list only to discover it is all the way back of the store! I ended up begging the clerk to please get it for me and pointed to my over loaded cart and screaming fighting kids to my case and it worked! Then the whole loading up the car while the kids constantly demand something is always a joy. Luckily my husband was at home when got back and he helped unload.
Tomorrow is our big garage remodel day, so lets see how it all works out!

  8. What a great skirt! Some of the things that I see found at resale shops makes me want to delve more and more into that part of the retail world. Been doing some things on eBay lately. I am getting better about the malls.

Question, are you always the best dressed mom at daycare? I am betting that most don't make the same effort that you do?

Love the total look, with the nails and hat and everything. So cute. The skirt is fantastic, and is my favorite piece of your outfit. Great find, Daphne's Mom!!
    Kids are adorable.

  13. Oh, goody -- a fashion education. I just got a skirt this length and had no clue how to wear it; I've never worn this length before. This outfit instructs me with good ideas. My attempt (in my most recent post) was a complete failure, so I obviously need to learn this.

was just telling a fellow blogger how i made (big) gingerbread houses one year as my gift to friends, bagged, and delivered them. that was hard work! i wouldn't mind doing just one with the kids!
