Pop The Cork

Finally getting the New Year's Eve post out now...

The inspiration came from the Ann Taylor Ad in the recent issues of the fashion magazines:

I liked the simplicity of the outfit. By just adding a fur scarf and fishnet stocking to a simple red dress you create something chic.

I bought these tights at F21 and have been dying to try them out. They are such 'statement' tights that they need a simple outfit to showcase them and this was perfect. I first wore my regular fishnets but they just kind of blended so these were much much cooler...
I love this faux fur snood from Asos. It has a knit lining on the inside so it is not itchy or furry where it touches your skin. The color is just perfect.

NEW YEAR'S EVE:
4 Families celebrated NYE together at our friend's house. We all planned to spend the night there (yes 8 kids!) so we wouldn't worry about drinking and driving.
I am sure so many other blogs are going to post these great NYE parties at trendy spots and our photos might look boring compared to those but it was so much fun. We all have done all the trendy parties and now with our kids we like to enjoy them and each other's company and be content with our Wii dance party and rounds of catch phrase game!
In the morning my hubby and the hosts cooked a great hearty breakfast with biscuits and gravy, bacon, hash browns and eggs. We all lingered around and let the kids play until 11 AM!

With the kids before we headed to the party...

 The Group!
I don't know why in their huge house we tried to do the group photo in this narrow staircase!

 Our gracious hosts!!

 The Girls!

 With my little man!

  Movie and pop corn time...

Game of Pool!

Dancing to Wii. This was so much fun. After the kids went to bed we did a whole other round. Probably why we had such little hang over. Great work out...

Cleaning up and laughing about an inside joke about knives!

We celebrated NYE for the kids New York time so 9 PM our time. Got them in their PJs first so we could send them to bed shortly after. Although it didn't quite work that way!
 Having so much fun!

The bedtime craziness starts!

We played rounds and rounds of catch phrase almost until 4 AM!

Pop the cork the kids are in bed!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

  1. NYE is made for dramatic clothes -- and you met the challenge! This is a great outfit. I'm lovin' it.

I especially love the tights. As you can see on my most recent post, I've just bought several pairs of patterned tights, too. None are as great as yours but I like the vibe they create. You hit a homerun with this look.

  2. I'm not a big fan of fur but I like the rest of the outfit, especially the tights!
