The Scarf Post...

This is a super basic outfit. Here was my inspiration from In Style's magazine 'make over' edition...

I actually was suppposed to wear my 'boyfriend' jeans but forgot and wore the skinnies instead. Oh well...

Added the simple burnished gold chain necklace for a bit of an accessory.
Didn't the vest pretty much all day but it was nice to have when it got a bit cooler.

Trying to be silly with the photo on the left. :)

Photos taken in my back yard...

Striped tunic & Black watch - from Turkey

Today's Activities: Went to my friends house to baby sit her kids while she is taking a weekend course in LA. So I had 4 kids ages 16 mos, 2 yrs, and two 3.5 yr olds. Since we were at their house my kids were very preoccupied with all the toys that are not theirs. And we had brought my son's 10 piece 'cars' set so her 3.5 yr old son was occupied with those pretty much the entire day. The youngest one was the one I had to watch and play with the most. I had to twist all their arms to get them outside to the backyard to get some fresh air and burn some energy in their giant jumpy. Everyone except her son napped. Had to go in twice to the little ones and put them back down but that is OK.
Cutting this short today to talk about SCARVES!

I have been getting a lot of comments and questions on how I tie my scarves.
First off let me tell you that I honestly do not spend more than a minute tying my scarves. You have to realize most mornings I have to leave the house by 8:30 AM. This means kids and I have to be fed and dressed, lunches packed, and because I am a neat freak, it also means all the toys have to be put away, beds made, kitchen cleaned, and blog photos taken. This is why I use outfit lists and pick the outfit I am going to wear the night before and when I do put that outfit on I have a minute or two to evaluate in the mirror. So when it comes to putting the scarf on it is very rushed incident as you can now imagine. But, I think because I do not fuss it usually looks great.

This is from In Style Magazine's January issue. Shows different ways you can wear scarves:
I have never tried the last two and would like to.

Here are some examples from my past looks:

1. Tied around the neck once or twice with ends open and dangling:
This style works really nicely with scarves that have fringes or embelishments at the end

2. You can even add a necklace on top of the above style:

3. Simply wear around your neck and let it dangle on the sides:

Can be worn this over a jacket as well:

4. You can use winter scarf in a similar fashion:

5. Tied around your neck and twisted in a casual style:
You can let a bit of the ends dangle or tuck them in. This is the style I wear the most. Throughout the day ends come undone a bit and that is OK. There is no trick this, I don't fuss just keep turning it around my neck and twisting at the same time and tucking the ends.

6. You can add a necklace to this style as well:
Necklace can be long or short over or below the scarf

7. For colder weather chunky infinity scarves or 'snoods' add a lot of style.

8. Faux fur scarves are also very trendy currently:
Mine is a short one so it fits like a snood...

9. Silk Scarves
As the below photo from Lucky Magazine's February  issue shows silk scarves will make a big come back this spring...

Here are a couple examples from my looks using silk:

10. Different ways to wear scarves:
Half tucked in half over a jacket under a belt:

Or as a belt:

Or a headband:

Hope you enjoyed the whole scarf issue...

  8. Ä° love this scarf issue indeed and Ä° have a few styles to add myself. Ä°f you remember Ä° showed how to tie the square scarf so you can use them as a blouse. Make the triangle and tie the folded side to your waist ans split the top and tie around your neck. Fabulous backless blouse to wear in suits or over jeans!
