Tribal Beach

Today's Beach Playdate outfit. The inspiration was from In-Style June issue:

This is basic but it was just another combo to create with tribal print shorts I had purchased from F21 a while back. This also reminded me I really need to buy some essential  'swing away' tanks like in the photo.
I first tried this with a white tank and it just didn't do it. This taupe color was better.
This green stone necklace from Turkey was perfect and simple. Also added couple bangles. I do want to get more thin gold bangles. That is also on my list.

My old green beaded flip flops....
Morning was chilly so I added a khaki cardigan. Took the hat to protect from the sun but it was never sunny so didn't wear it...

 Cardigan - Guess
Tank, Shorts, Hat - Forever 21
Flip flops - Target
Necklace - From Turkey
Bangles - Ruche

This morning's activities: Had our usual Monday playdate this time at my friend's house who lives a block from the beach. We did our usual routine of having the kids play first then go to the beach then coming back for lunch and some more playtime. It was chilly and overcast but following our own promise of taking advantage of summer regardless of the weather we didn't care. Of course my daughter managed to get totally wet and covered in sand so had to bring her back completely naked and washed at my friend's outside shower.
Hence you can see 3 little girls in the wagon pulled by 3 eager boys!

Going to a 'Grub Crawl' event this afternoon/night with friends and family. My birthday is coming up this weekend so I negotiated 2 nights off this week from my husband! The girls are taking me out for my b-day Thursday night. Will post tonight's outfit and photos later tomorrow probably.

  1. Love this! It's casual but still pulled together! The hat is the perfect addition, even if you didn't wear it for long!

  7. No wonder the beaded flip flops are vintage for me. You could have matched them with a green bracelet.. Since I was searching for this match I found this, its little pricey but from your fav. place Forever 21,, have a look at it plz

  13. you are, hands down, one of the most stylish mums out there (mine could take a few tips from you:P). This is such a lovely look. And I love the necklace. I just got back from Istanbul just over a week ago, and Turkey really seems like one of the "it" places for finding jewellery!
