Bookish

And I wasn't going to dress today. I actually spent a (very) good portion of the day in PJs. I love being able to do that on rare occasions. Even my husband commented if I was planning to get dressed and I said 'no'. Then I decided we should do something fun in the afternoon. Well, I was also motivated by the desire to not cook. Picked an outfit from the fall/winter list since it is ridicilously chilly here which sucks.

This is from last summer's issue:
Nothing too interesting but liked the idea of using my silk red (work) shirt that is literally collecting dust in my closet. And also the denim jacket I haven't worn for sooo long...

Added my old eye glasses for the same effect buy my eye sight might have changed cause these were giving me a total headache during the photo shoot...

I usually crop my face entirely from the close-up upper body shots but this time I kind of liked that just my lips and gold hoops are showing. I even put red lip gloss on!

The platform booties looked cool but for our actual outing I switched to my flat rugged brown boots...

Denim Jacket - I have no idea and am too lazy to get up to look up the tag! Sad I know!
Silk Blouse - Ann Taylor
Dark skinny jeans - H&M
Belt - H&M
Booties - Forever 21
Glasses - Calvin Klein
Earings - from Turkey

Today's Activities: So yes I totally slummed it at home all morning. My mom reported my daughter hardly slept last night and she was too cranky to go out on their outing to Children's museum so they dropped her off early. I hung out with her and had lunch together and had her go down for her nap early. They brought my son back during nap time and he actually napped. As a treat when they woke up we had cupcakes I brought from the b-day party last night while my husband did our grocery shopping. Then we picked up my dad all went to an arcade to play. I even tried that dance game and loved it. I think we should totally buy it for our PS3 and it is a great workout. I am not telling my husband to google it.
Anyway then we had dinner at Soupplantation. My dad's favorite! My son also loves a whole plate of salad and veggies and there is always pasta for my daughter.
We came home in time for baths and bedtime.
While my husband conducted his sunday night work call I watched an oldie while folding 2 loads of laundry.
I am sure you all have seen it...'Gentlemen Prefer Blondes' by Marilyn Monroe (my fave) and Dorothy Shaw from 1950s. And as I was watching I realized how amazing the outfits were and it was like our era's Sex and The City movies. And those outfits are all timeless. I googled some images to refresh your memory...

Oh, first though here is a photo of my daughter imitating my 'stop' hand gesture to stop her from jumping into my shot! :)

Then the kids carried their chair to the grass and asked me to take their photo...

The famous movie cover poster...

This is the classic pink dress which I adore...

The outfit they wore as they went aboard the ship. Check out the hats and the animal prints...

The outfits worn when they landed in Europe... Loving the collars!

Her outfit on the ship. Loving the lavender form fitting dress...

Their dinner gowns... Loving that orange one aren't you?

Doesn't this outfit remind you of Gucci's color blocking pieces from this season?

  5. You make me laugh when you write things that happen in my life, too. Yesterday, I wasn't going to get out of my nightie all day until dinner-time arrived and I was too lazy to cook, so I had to change an get washed up to go out to eat. And, I've also cropped photos above the neck just to show off my lipstick. :)
